This week we have only a couple of things going on, nothing crazy – except for Wednesday, it’s pretty busy. I think my menu plan was a bit ambitious last week because I veered from the list pretty quickly. I still made most of the recipes I had planned, but I simplified them. Everything still worked out well and we enjoyed it all. This week we’re going back to some favorites again and I’m going to spend some time cleaning out closets and toys for the church yard sale happening the weekend that I take the boys to California. Jason will be manning a booth with our stuff and browsing other booths for anything we might need.
Monday, March 14:
Lunch — Hot dogs and leftover pineapple upside-down cake.
Dinner — BBQ Meatballs, fried potatoes, and corn on the cob.
Tuesday, March 15:
Playgroup at our friend Hiedi’s house. Her backyard is huge, allowing lots of space for the big boys to play while the little ones hang out in the house.
Lunch — Quickie quesadillas and sliced apples.
Dinner — Thai Chicken and fried rice.
Wednesday, March 16:
Bible study, the first in a new series taught by my good friend Hilary. Then two dentist appointments. I’m going for the first time in (*gasp*) almost two years, and this will be Jeremy’s first cleaning. He’s visited the dentist before, rode in the chair, had them peek in his mouth, but never a cleaning.
Lunch — Snacks on the road. We’ll be out of the house from about 9 am til almost 1 pm.
Dinner — Pepper steak (the only new recipe I’m trying this week), mashed potatoes, and carrots.
Evening service at church. This will be the last part of the Lessons From Elijah series that we’ve been enjoying. Next Wednesday night will begin a marriage seminar that I am really looking forward to. It’s a video series by the hilarious and frank Mark Gungor. Our MOPS group has been seeing bits as “Marriage Moments” and I can’t wait to see the rest.
Thursday, March 17 (St Patrick’s Day):
Lunch — BBQ chicken, rice, and seasoned corn.
Dinner — We are not celebrating the day with traditional Irish fare of corned beef because I cannot stand it. Gross! We’re having smoked sausage and potatoes. Maybe some eggs and onions tossed in to make a tasty hash. Perhaps I will pamper my family with some grasshopper milkshakes or something. We’ll see.
Friday, March 18:
Lunch — Tacos and fruit.
Dinner — Chicken (the really good one I tried that had the bread crumbs stuck on with spiced up mayo), homemade Rice-a-Roni, and carrots.
Saturday, March 19:
We’re going to be heading out to take some family photos in the park with my friend Kim. She’s a pretty great amateur photographer and fellow Coastie wife. Her husband is being transferred this year, so she and her family are moving from Mobile to the north east this summer. Jeremy is going back to CA next week and Kim’s family will have moved before Jeremy gets back in mid-June. So this weekend will be a last hurrah for Jeremy with her two oldest kiddos (two of his favorite friends). We’re definitely going to need to keep these guys in touch via Skype.
Lunch — Out somewhere with the Howell’s after our photo shoot. 🙂
Dinner — Cheeseburger Soup.
Sunday, March 20:
Breakfast — Sausage and biscuits with gravy.
Linner — Monterey Chicken.
Snack/Dessert — Cheesecake with cherry topping.
Night of Worship as our church band/worship team kicks off their new cd release and song sets. Excited!
