Menu Plan: 1/17/11

After a holiday weekend to welcome Jeremy home, this week we’re going to get back into our usual routine.

Monday, January 17:

Lunch — Hot dogs with chips, carrot sticks, and ranch dip.
Dinner — Marinated Chicken (I need to come up with a better name for this before I share the recipe, it was delicious), with corn on the cob and buttered rice.

Tuesday, January 18:

Lunch — Grilled cheese sandwiches with chips and dip.
Dinner — Spaghetti (using my homemade pasta sauce) with quickie garlic bread.

Wednesday, January 19:

Lunch — Tuna sandwiches with apple slices and I’m finally going to try Amy’s cream cheese apple dip.
Dinner — Orange Chicken and fried rice.

Thursday, January 20:

Lunch — Loaded Baked Potato Soup and biscuits.
Dinner — BBQ chicken, fried corn, and brown rice.

Friday, January 21:

Lunch — Homemade corn dogs, celery with cream cheese, and apple slices.
Dinner — Hamburger steaks, carrots, and crash potatoes.

Saturday, January 22:

Lunch — Lemon garlic parmesan pasta with chicken and bacon.
Dinner — Pot luck at a friend’s home. I’m bringing Cajun Rice (a variant on my jambalaya, but without the sausage or chicken).

Sunday, January 23:

Lunch — Chicken Pot Pie Soup (I think I might make this the day before and put it in the fridge so I’ll have less work after we get home from church, we’re usually starving by then.)
Dinner — Pork chops in the crock pot, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob.

I love being back in my kitchen. After our long California vacation I really missed cooking for my family. Now that I’m back I’m going to be getting in some better habits to keep the place clean. I spend so much time in there that I really need to keep it in order. Since I’ll have a nice orderly room to play in, I’m also intending to shake up our meals a little bit. I have a tendency to get in a rut and just make our favorite dishes over and over and over again. They’re good (that’s why they are our favorites), but it does get a little boring. I’m going to dust off some old recipes and search out some new ones. As I make up some of my own creations, I’ll share the recipes ore often (so long as they turn out well). 😉
